Vacuum line locations with video, seached
Ok, the vac line that comes from the cruise control unit next to the charcoal cannister. Where do these go exactly? Also, directly below the plastic thing-a-ma-jig on the back of the throttle body, you know, with two lines comming off of it, there is a vac line on the intake manifold right? does this actually run to the previously mentioned plastic thing? Here, video to help my lack of good words.

Any input? Not too sure where the cruise control vacuum lines go, and still don't know where the one on the back of the UIM goes either. My car has been down for two weeks now
and I'm really starting to miss it, any input would be greatly appreciated

Well if you get a chance, pop the hood on your '90, take a peek behind the throttle body, and see where that hose is running to, i don't think it is supposed to run to the thermowax but I'm not exactly sure of the location. I have studied the fsm and haynes manual, and I've searched the web and this forum for nearly 2 weeks now with no luck. There are so many smart people on this forum, could one of you just tell me where it goes?

So out of the 109 views of this post, nobody is willing to provide feedback? I know this is a simple question with a simple answer, the problem is I absolutely can not find a picture of behind the UIM. The FSM doesn't detail these lines, and doesn't have a diagram including the back of the UIM and it appears the Haynes manual just took diagrams from the fsm. If anyone out there has 2 minutes of free time, pop your hood, take a peek back there and let me know what those run to.
I understand the whole ratio of working to non working rx7's, meaning there are only about 80 running at any given time, and I know that if I fix mine, it means someone else will break down, but I just bought this car in February, paid WAY too much for it, and have already put countless hours of work into it. All I ask is for a little assistance from one of the professionals on this site.
Thanks in advance,
Jerry

Let me put it this way. I've noticed fewer and fewer RX in the wrecking yard each time I go there. The yard needs to be replinished. The yard can be replinished IF an owner gets disgruntled enough and chunks the car. Car gets chunked......I get parts.
Frankly I don't remember and the 86 n/a isn't here right now. IF I remember, I have it going to a nipple about six inches below the water thermo switch on the back of the intake manifold.
EDIT: I just went out to the garage and looked at an old/spare intake manifold for a 86/87 na,. It has no throttle body which made things easier.
There are FOUR intake runners. On the REAR intake runner, about two inches inboard of the secondary injector, there are three nipples. All vacuum. You won't use the largest of the three, but you can use either of the other two, one of which I'm SURE is not being used right now.
Don't wanna use those? Then follow the two MIDDLE intake runners and look on their outboard ends. Each has a nipple out there.
Don't like any of the above? Then there's a nipple on the outboard end of the intake manifold, just below where the SUBZERO valve is. IT is probably being used. So use any of the other four nipples and even the large nipple I mentioned if you can reduce it to the vacuum hose size for the Cruise Control motor.
That was a lot of trouble trudging out to the garage/clutter house to find that manifold. NOw I've to go trudge out and put it back.
I don't think I ever appreciated that intake manifold as much as maybe I should have. Plenty of spare nipples on it.

Ok, so am I getting right here? It doesn't matter what nipple the line goes to on the intake manifold? It makes sense, unless they pull in different volumes.
edit: So what about the line you see comming off my thermowax that is running to the line you have your cruise control running to? (See vid for ref.)

I hope these are what you where asking about...
Below you will see that two of the vacuum hoses come together right next to my finger... They are held together by a plastic "T"... The third part of that "T" goes to a nipple on the lower part of the upper manifold... There is a bigger vacuum nipple right next to it that appears to go to the transmission...

Below is a picture of the middle vac line... It connects to a nipple on the bottom of the throttle body...

The arrows that I drew into the pictures are the vacuum direction... The little plastic peices near the arrows or that the arrows are on are one way check valves... They will need to be installed to allow the air to flow in the direction of the arrows... Again... I hope this is what you where looking for... Good luck...
***Edit...
I just noticed your TB only has 2 nipples coming off of the "Plastic Thinga Ma Jig"...
I would eliminate the middle one from my pictures if this is the case...

IF your looking for a place to put the vacuum line for the cruise control, do not attach it to the water thermo valve shown in the pictures above.
Connect it to any of the nipples I mentioned in my post above.
It's as simple as this. Idle the car. Go to any of the nipples I described above and if it has a plastic cap on it, pull the plastic cap off and see if there is a vacuum there. If you went to any of the nipples I mentioned above there WILL be a vacuum there. That's what your looking for. A source of vacuum. Connect the cruise control line to it.

CAR, that is great, thank you for those pics they have been difficult to find, however, I can tell already that I have something wrong here. I don't have anything running to transmission as far as vacuum goes (Manual transmission, thats why I only have 2 nipples on the plastic thing)
I'm going to take the car into a shop Monday, It's having many more problems than just a vac leak I think (It won't even start now, it just sounds like everything is spinning without any resistance at all, which is odd because yesterday I got 3 even puffs out of each rotor) I'll have them work on it. And hailers, you can forget about seeing this car in a junkyard, I love it too much to scrap, I'd do a v8 or v6 swap (Hey, I'd figure it out) before I junked it.

I thought you where asking where the vac lines from the TB go as well as the Cruise... I have an 89 N/A... It is an auto... That is probably why I have the large vac line going to the Trans... I do not have cruise control... Put pics of of your car of what you want and I will put pics of my car and where things go... Dont take it to a mechanic... They will probably mess it up more... My first 7 sat at a shop for 2 months while the mechs scratched their heads... I bought it and in two hours pulled the cat and it started right up... You will have better luck talking to people in here...
