Vaccum Tube Question (repair fire damage)

Ive got a question.......the fittings that are on either side of the primary injectors....do vaccum tubes go to those? Mine got burned up in a fire and I dont know where the hoses go. In the pic, is it correct that the yellow goes to yellow and blue to blue? Or if they go to different locations, could someone point them out and show me how the tubes are supposed to go. Thanks guys.

Those look like oil injectors, they do have 4 vac lines going to them, then to one of those little circle things, then to a large vac line to the vac spider (i think!). Just go get a few m10x1.25x20mm bolts and put those in. Start using premix.

10mm x 1.00 metric thread bolts Is what I did to eliminate the use of the stock MOP.

You might wanna check your Pulsation Damper while your down there, which I'm pretty sure you know that It was the culprit of the engine fire.

Really? I put 1.25 in mine... Plus checked the oil injector itself on a m10x1.25 nut.

You all are talking about the same bolt size. The 20mm is the length of the bolt which only one person bothered to mention. The thread pitch and bolt diameter and strength are all that really matter (within reason).

How exactly did a fuel line bust? Was it something that you had tampered with? Where did the fuel line bust? Do you have any idea of what sort of condition the hose was in? We need to know of any possible fire causes so we can all inspect the area on our own cars.

Heh.....well, first I had a bad piece of fuel tubing. My car is an 88 and the fuel line was probably just as old as the car. So I started smelling fuel, decided to find the leak and fix it. The leak was coming from the piece of fuel tubing from the primary to secondary rail. So, when I replaced this piece, I believe I accidentally cut the replacement piece of tubing a little too short. The fitting on the secondary rail was at the wrong angle and I believe it torqued and under pressure of the fuel burst. Im 99% sure that is what happened. So the fire was my own stupid fault....oh well. Ive already replaced the wiring harness, which wasnt as hard as I thought it was going to be. Still, anyone w/ a picture of what its supposed to look like under the upper intake manifold with all the oil hoses etc.?

The nipples on the oil injectors all go to that squiggly looking part of the vacuum spider that has a bunch of nipples on it. It really doesn't matter which nipples connect to which, as long as you connect one nipple on an injector to one nipple on the spider. The hoses should be about 5 inches long. If you need to use a foot of hose then you are connecting it to the wrong spot. Then there are little round rings that wrap around the oil injectors that also have a nipple on them. These nipples are for the oil injector lines which come from the oil pump attached to the lower left portion of the motor on the front cover. You can remove these lines and the oil injectors all together and plug up the injector holes if you want. You will then need to run premix and block off the outlet to the oil pump and remove it. If you decide to remove the injectors you will also need to cap off the open nipples that were supposed to be hooked up to the injectors. Your questions can be answered by just about half of the people on this board so don't be afraid to ask. But you better ask soon because the forum will be down most of the weekend. It might be easier if you take pics and ask us specific questions. Our pics might not show exactly what you need to see. And sometimes it's difficult to describe which hoses go where.

ok so there are two hoses that go on the oil injectors? I have the "spider looking thing" with all the hoses from the batch of parts i bought to fix the car. Ill put that part on and take a picture and see if its correct. Also, tell me where to look if I need to plug something on the oil pump or whatever? And can someone explain to me what premix is please? Thanks a bunch guys. Also, if someone has a pic of what these oil injectors assemblies are supposed to look like that would be great. Thanks again.

Aaron

Those lines actually go around the Oil Injectors you just put those vacuum lines on. They are the OMP lines. One end of each goes to the OMP (near the front cover on the bottom left), and the other end goes to each oil injector. You will need to replace the broken one, and you may wanna replace em all. You will also need the copper crush washers that seal them (2 for each), or they will leak.

http://www.mazdatrix.com sells them

Oh, correction. I just read that you are possibly going to run premix?

Then ignore what I said and get some nuts to block off the omp, and you can toss that whole mess of lines in the picture.

Premix is putting oil into your gas to lubricate the apex seals, a job normally done by the OMP. I'm not sure of the ratios, as I have never done it.

I meant to say bolts to block off the oil injectors, and then a block off plate to remove the OMP. I know they are pre-made somewhere, but you could make it yourself.

ok.....the hoses that go from the injectors, not the vaccum hoses but the actual oil lines.....where do those go? OMP? Im tryin to figure this out but cant lol. Ive got a better understanding of the Premix situation but I would rather not have to mess with that every fill-up. Does ANYONE have a picture of what this whole mess of vaccum and oil lines are supposed to look like ?
