v mount

I'm looking to go v mount, can anyone shoot me some advise. Does anyone know whether or not I'm going to have to custom make the mounts or is there a manufacturer that makes them?

best way to go would be custom. those kits are expensive and the way the IC and the radiator sit are kinda funny looking. i would just have some one tig up a new custom way to do it.

FYI: there are some good examples of FC v-mounts in the drifting section. There was a thread about them, and you can look through the build threads.

Rotary Works is a piece of **** company and their kit is trash. I bought it and nothing even came close to fitting, and it all had to be modified by a shop.

My suggestion for a drop in unit is to go with the rotary extreme kit. The guy goes through great pains to make sure everything fits perfectly, without modifications.

Neukin lacks pictures, and won't respond to emails.

If you had some welding skills, it wouldn't be hard to make a vmount. Be sure to have proper duct work or else having the vmount is kinda pointless. To do it right and have fresh airflow to every unit, you need to get clever with the placement of the oil cooler, or dual side mount them.

If I were to do things all over again, I would probably sandwich the intercooler directly in front of the radiator for a proper fmic. Having the intercooler ahead not only creates longer plumbing which is bad for response, but it disturbs airflow pattern and air can actually tumble instead of passing through the second core. That's why most oem cars and trucks do it the right way and sandwich them. People are retarded.

IMO there hasn't been much in the way of a good FC V-mount yet. the companies that make them use cores that are larger than necessary and fitment sucks *** as a result.

tilt the top of the radiator towards the engine and find a core to fit in the newly open area facing the hood, fill the sides with triangular plugs. the downside to this is the hood has to be vented to relieve the intercooler. some people don't mind a gaping hole in their hood, others do.

in general the greddy FMIC core is massive and complete overkill for anything sub 500whp, and those cores are the ones people use as examples for v-mounts. 23"X13"X3".... yeah, that's a LOT of airflow cooling, more than most people really need.
