Using FD water pump housing+pump or custom thermostat neck

With my GT3574 kit and my large by huge radiator I need to run the intercooler pipes up and towards the engine. With the stock thermostat housing the pipes would run right into it. Has anyone ever put a 3rd gen water pump housing on their FC? Or maybe fabbing up a new thermostat housing or modifying the stock aluminum ones? Just looking for ideas

FYI, I have no PS, AC and a relocated alternator

Let me dig up the picture of TT's set up. He's run the FD WP on it. Nevermind, the picture I'm thinking of doesn't have the FD waterpump mounted yet--But in answer to your question, yes, it has been done.

I suppose shims could be used to mount the water pump pulley out should there be a difference between the FC and FD pulley positions. Obviously I would have to get the FC pulley to fit on an FD pump.

Then I would just do the AST mods or similar to allow for bleeding the system.

I hope you're not using a stock ECU, cause the ignition triggers are not compatible.

I'm using a microtech, but I wasn't changing the front cover, just the water pump housing. I was hoping to adapt the FC pulley to the FD waterpump

the reverse spinning waterpump could be a problem Back to the drawing boards. Looks like a modified thermostat housing is going to be the hot solution
