Using Airpump to Open 6Port

Does anyone know how to do this?

Like without the use of a RPM Switch?
I've tried searching on the forum but all the links for this seem to be dead...

If anyone could help me out that would be great .

what year? if you have an s5 you can go off the ecu, if you have s4 then you gotta either use the switch or back pressre, no other way...i dont think there is.

You need to tell us what sort of car you have for these questions. "Integra" in your profile is useless...

I assume you have an S4 or you wouldn't need to ask. You need a solenoid valve to switch the air pressure in and out (reuse a redundant emissions solenoid) and an rpm switch to open the ports at the correct time. Putting it together should be pretty self-explanatory.

The only complication is you'd need an adjustable bleed valve in the air line somewhere so air can constantly flow through the system while still building some pressure. Otherwise you'd overheat the pump and overpressurise the actuators.

air pump

Tee into the air pump and run a hose off of it into a 3-way garden hose valve. On one of the 2 remaining valve openings split that off into two small vacuum hoses and run one to one actuator and the other to the other actuator. The remaining opening on the hose valve should have a line a heater hose attached to it and ran away from the motor. Use the adjustment levers on the valve to set a desired rpm for the ports to open. We did this on my friends 91 but i think it might be different for the earlier years. I don't remember it but there was a link in the search that had pictures and parts lists, that's what i used. It was easy to do but after a while it stopped working, so we just wired open the ports. As long as you keep it in the higher revs you can't tell a difference at all.

Sorry,

Yes I have an S4 (86).

By reading what NZ has said I'm assuming that this can't be done with an RPM switch now...?

Should you decide to use a setup that Involves a RPM Switch, check this link out. https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...light=actuator

Sorry, I reread my post and it wasn't very clear.

The rpm switch is needed to open the solenoid valve at the correct rpm. The valve opening allows pressure from the air pump to reach the actuators.

The stcock emissions solenoid valves that I suggested you use are 3-port valve with one port open to atmoshere. When you open the valve pressure passes to the actuator, and when you close it the pressure is relieved out through the open port.

search under : *dr cat exhaustenheimer* or something like that, there is a good pic of a setup using the air pump in that thread.
