Using 20w50 oil year round in GA a bad idea or good ?

I was wondering if using 20w50 oil year round in Georgia was a good or bad idea, I remember some people saying they used it year round but I'm not sure what areas.

Right now I live in north Georgia in a town called Dawsonville.

No problems, the FSM recommends it for temps above 15*F.

there is a graph on the underside of the hood that states what oil is best used for when.

I use it in East TN which gets a bit colder, no problems here. Just make sure you warm your motor up before driving on really cold days.

I live in Louisiana and used it year round when mine was on the road. No problems. Probably a little thick for the colder months...but I didnt have any issues.

20w50 summer, and 10w30 in the winter here in the Upstate of SC/ NC. I think I might try and run 20w50 this year tho... if it gets too cold and I start noticing any problems I'll switch over to the 10w30.

but yeah, I drive a 153k mile 1991 coupe.

Lived in East Tennessee for many years and driving 7's since 92 and all four of them have had castrol 20w50. When really cold let it warm up for a minute and its good. I always seems to have less leaks when I have run 20w50 vs thinner oils.
