Used Exhaust

Do you guys recommend buying a used exhaust? Or to save up and buy a whole new one. I am looking at the rev-II at the moment and might pick it up used but one of my friend told me that exhaust do go bad and after time it doesn't work as well (sound quality gets worst)

Any truth to that?
Thanks

If you can find one with no bangs or rust or anything like that, I'd go for it. I don't think sound will get worse, maybe performance if it's a high mileage exhaust. Most people won't ship cat-backs though because of their size/weight.

I'm running an old school RB REV exhaust with original presilencer on my S5 TurboVert. I love it, and sound is no louder than the REV II I bought new I'm running on my S4 TurboVert.

GO for it.

I picked up an old REV T2 exhaust from before they were stainless. It's all mild steel, with RB stamped into the tips, and must be at least ten years old. A little high temp paint and some polish on the tips and it looks pretty good. Very solid, and still sounds fantastic.

I'd highly recommend picking up one used.

I have an old one also, 17+ years old. It is a complete turbo to tip one. Still a good part after all this time. I do live in the South away from all the salty winter roads.
