Us spec wiring harness vs J spec

I have just received a US spec wiring harness and it is a little different from the J spec one I have, Both are S5 T2. The US one has 4 connecters that come into the cabin from the engine bay and the J spec only has 3? What is the extra connecter for? Will the US spec work the same? I am doing a T2 conversion in to an 86 GXL.

Also does the us spec one have their wiring crimped (in the middle or ¾ of the way down) and have some plastic stuff melted around them; or has something happened to mine and someone tried to fix it?

A picture would help.
The extra connector may be for the optional ABS.

Crimps & heat shrink - might be a repair. (no biggy)

How are you running a J-spec harness when it runs on the opposite side?
