Weight savings, less clutter, and your in FL so no Emissions

You need a double alternator pully.

On www.1300cc.com I think he stated that there is a 5$ belt you could buy at a hardware store.

you will need a double belt because the water pump belt will slip at high rpm's , i had to find that out the hard way

Your exhaust will smell like ****. If you like that great. I didn't, neither did my wife. i had the airpump off with a cat still on until I ordered my replacement pipe (not a daily driver so the cat won't get a chance clog), I came in the house and my wife says 'your car smells funny', she was inside the whole time.

Lots less clutter though, and the yoohoo belt thing works.

I posted this awhile back. If you are interested in getting the second belt:

yeah, I wouldn't recommend using the Yoohoo belt.. as I think it was RETed who pointed out, there is no tensioner or anything, and it's either going to be really loose, or put weird pressures on your water pump and/or eccentric shaft....

That it does. The S5 ports are air pump driven, the S4 ports are backpressure driven.

Also, if you keep the cats & run without the air pump, supposedly they burn themselves up fairly quickly. I wouldn't suggest running cats without the smog pump, personally.

Really, if the air pump is working, there's no advantage to removing it, other than saving a few pounds & getting some crap out of the engine bay. It doesn't draw much power, and it avoids having to dig up a dual alt. pulley for the water pump.

On a S4 or S5 turbo, if you're removing emissions, go ahead & take it out. The smell keeps the tailgaters away (and if that doesn't work, a quick blast of flames does the trick). On a S5 NA, you need to keep it (or find another way to open the 6th ports).
