Upgrades/ Modifications?

I just got my first 2nd gen, with 46k miles on it, and it is an 86 bone stock. (Although it has the GXL rims I think) and side and rear rubber spoilers) As far as I can tell it's just a plain s4 RX-7. I put 10mm Magnecor wires on it, and replaced the plugs (NGK stock 7eq and 9eq's). I power flushed the coolant and replaced the belts and upper rad hose (it had a bubble in it) and replaced thermostat for good measure. I am going to be replacing the shifter bushings since the shifter is a bit sloppy, but other than that, the car is in great shape.

Does anyone have suggestions on basic mods/upgrades? Is the K&N FIPK kit worth it? What about the strut tower brace (and who makes a good one?) I have mostly restored my 83 to stock, and don't plan on modding it, so I do know some about Rx7's. Any suggestions are very much welcome. Thanks!

Ok I wouldn't spend that much money on a intake. Just go for an ebay intake kit or buy the HKS AFM adaptor and any filter you want. When I get around to buying a strut tower brace it will be the GReddy one. Its like $100 or less.

My suggestion for an NA is to just run straight pipes to whatever mufflers you like and an intake. If your not happy with the performance by then you'll have to go with forced induction of some sort(N2O, turbo, supercharger)to be satisfied more than likely.

Unfortunately, straight pipes are pretty much out since NJ has pretty strict emissions requirements. What does the Jacobs propak ignition do, and is it worth the money?

Well you can go with the bonez superflo system that replaces both the precats but includes a high flow main cat and is 100% bolt on.

http://www.rx7.com/cgi-local/2catalog.cgi?cat=4&part=1

Get that and a catback and an intake.

And the Jacobs propak is supposedly just as good as MSD or Crane but its costs more.

On a Rotary Engine, first things first. Open up your Exhaust. Whether It be removing the string of cats or getting a performance catback. Then Intake.

First, gen a K&N if you don't already have one. Next, get a Racing Beat exhaust. If everything else mechanically works well, then you could upgrade the suspension and wheels. By the way, do you have a picture of your car? Is it red?

Finally got pics of my car!!!

BTW, what about that K&N FIPK? Worth the $163 or so? What about exhaust. Since I have to worry about emissions requirements in NJ, am I better off with the Bonez superflo, or the Racing Beat Exhaust?

Need some more ideas, but here's the pics. Not bad for a car never repainted or anything that is over 16 years old!

Yes sir just a plain *** S4 SPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i cant believe no one told you but yes you basically have a base model with 5 lugs and brakes( a sport) ...good job on that catch and also check to see if you have an lsd some sports do some dont but its mainly a factory error to have an lsd....

Actually, there are no rear seats OR rear bins. Just a flat deck! How useless. After some reading and research, I found that I indeed have an s4 Sport. Kind of rare I found too, not that it matters. I'd rather have a TII.
