update: rats nest removed. more problems.

i got everything put back together in my engine bay after removing the rats nest and running new fuel lines. i ditched all the solenoids including the twin scroll. i plugged the actuator hose (the metal hose coming frm the banjo bolt ont he twin scroll actuator) and here is the problem.. i start the car and i hear a high pitched whistling noise. it increases when i increase the throttle and decreases when i let off. the car was running like ****, and since i heard the whistling noise coming from somewhere in the turbo area, so i pulled out the golf tee that i used to plug the twinscroll actuator hose. by this time i am noticing that i am burning oil out of the exhaust. are these things related somehow? also note that i replaced hoses that supplied oil for the oil injectors because they were flimsy and letting oil out. i read somewhere that you were supposed to wire open the actuator for the twin scroll... but i thought that if there was no vacuum going to the actuator then it was open anyways... what do i do about that? thanks guys i could really use some help

the whistling, squealing noise sounds like supercharger whine.

It sounds as if you capped the line by the oil filler cap that comes from the block, do not cap this hose or you're car will smoke. Leave it open vented and put a small breather on it.

The whistling noise sounds like a vac leak which is also making your car run like hell. Did you remove the twin scroll door out of the exhaust manifold?

I'd remove the door, it's not hard to do. Once you get it out, tap it for a bolt or put a smaller bolt throught it with a washer on each side a nut on the end.

I'll look for a pic of the line by the filler tube. It's down below the IC and only about 6" long, 10mm ID. It's not the usual small size of a vac line it's about the size of a fuel line.

There is also a very small vac nipple on the block down between the 2 middle oil injectors, did you cap it?

That may have been your smoking problem, the capped line by the filler tube. Is the little nipple on the filler tube capped, too? That shouldn't be capped either.

Don't worry about it right away, mine is open vented. Damn, that reminds me to get the filter.......... It's been a few weeks and I keep forgetting to get one.

Yes, you need to cap that small nipple between the oil injectors, and it's a bitch getting the cap on there. I was going to leave a small bit of line on there and put a bolt in it, but I finally got the nipple to go on.

The front hose stays the same, and the rear hose goes to the coolant nipple on the block. The one where the pain in the *** 90' hose went to.

you don't need to, just cap it. The only vac lines that should be attached to the UIM are the ones for the oil injector spider, one going to the secondary rail, and then one by the BAC for the boost sensor/BOV, etc.....

ok, this is what i did.

1. cap it off

4. Cap it off

2. Keep it and run it to the nipple b/t the two OIL injectors.

3. Keep it and run it to the oil injector spider. If you premix, cap it off along with the top of the oil injectors.
