update on my T2 swap

Well, I thought I would just let you guys know how the swap was going so far. Ive got the rear end bolted up, the motor and tranny bolted up and the driveshaft.

Right now its a bunch of little things that have to be done to the car and stuff before its ready to be started. I also have to connect the wiring harness up. Im using the N/A harness, so ive been searching on how to modify it for the T2 motor, but no real answers yet, oh well.

I sold my civic (finally) monday and ive almost spent all the money I got from selling it. This is what I bought so far:

-Apex'i N1 Duals
-Apex'i Intake
-GReddy Type S BOV and flange
-GReddy Profec B spec II
-GReddy Auto Timer w/ harness
-Walbro 255 fuel pump
-HKS FCD
-Autometer Cobalt series Boost gauge
-Autometer Cobalt series A/F Gauge

I still have to order my downpipe and presilener. Im going to be going with the Racing Beat downpipe and presilencer for that. If I have enough money left over im also going to be buying an Apex'i Super AFC II.

I will try and have some pictures up as soon as I can.

Sounds good....you're better off going with a turbo harness....the NA harness is going to be a pain in the *** to modify. Believe me...I just went through the same swap....wait, not quite.
Mine was a T2 with an N/A motor....put a turbo motor in. finally got it running after a whole year of dicking with it.

I'd honestly recommend finding a turbo harness and ECU and save yourself the hassle of unlooming the rats nest we call RX-7 wiring harnesses....

Oh yeah...good choice on the Racing Beat stuff...That's what I have on mine.

well i am running the turbo ecu, just no harness, my friend said that he would do what would be needed to my n/a harness since he does it all the time at his shop, so i might give him a few bucks and just have him do it... unless of course someone has a diagram on how to modify the n/a harness that i can look at. ....lol

the NA and turboII harnesses are nearly the same. that funkspectrum doesnt know waht he's talking about.

all you have to do is use the VDI wire from the NA harness as the knock sensor wire for the TURBO engine. i've been running an NA harness with my swap for almost a year now. many people do this because of the rarity of s5 TII engine harnesses. the plugs are the same and everything, they just did the emissions stuff (all the solenoids) differently between the NA's and TII's.

if you're not gonna run the emissions rack and all the crappy solenoids, just use the NA harness, its nearly plugandplay.

i believe the VDI wire is yellow with a black stripe. go to www.iluvmyrx7.com and download the FSM. check out the EMISSIONS CONTROL UNIT section, has all the pins/wires the the ecu. just download that one section for s5 NA and s5 TII and compare them.
