Update on my conversion
Well, the first thing I will say is... OWWWWWW!%)!@*#!@$)!@*#!)@#* Ok you may be wondering why it is I am saying oww, but I just made it through the most painful part of my conversion, installing the clutch pedals. What a pain in the %!@$!@ I think i broke my knuckles at least 16 times throughout the process, then my damn steering shaft wouldn't come free. ugh! But, after about 2 hours, it was out and the clutch pedal assembly was on it's way in. Now just to wait for some shifter bushings and my master cylinder for the clutch, and hopefully I am ready for my engine. Hopefully I'll be complete by the end of March, but that's just a hope of mine. Thanks for all your help, and parts. My car has officially become part of me, or at least, it has enough blood of mine to be part of me!

hey sonic, do you know if you can remove the stock shifter in an '87 base model and replace it with a '89 GTU shifter, without having to do any mods? just curious, because the GTU **** won't fit the '87's.
