under hood garbage

i'm buying an 88 t2. i've owned 2 other rx7's prior to this one, but never really modified them. seeing as this will not be a daily driver, the almost blown 13b with 2 bolts holding the intercooler in place (on opposite corners of course) 167K mile t2 will be yanked out. i live in tampa, only shop i know of here is "maztech" heard they do good work. motor will be pulled by them and reinstalled by them. but which motor should i go with? an 89-92. what kind of under hood crap do i not need? a.c., p.s., pollution control crizap..etc...have about 5k to spend. should i concentrate on making solid na power then add a turbo? oh yeah and getting it for 500$ with new paint, new tranny and clutch also woo hoo!! would going with a single exhaust be better also?

Id go with a s5 tii motor, few different benefits to them

Its virtually free to remove that crap. http://devils.eng.fsu.edu/~bmatt/RX-7/emissions.html has a basic run down of what you can remove. There is more you can than whats listed on that site, search on this forum for the others.

You already have a turbo? I find modding a NA is a waste of time. IMO they are great for daily drivers, but are too expensive to go fast. May as well go make a SOHC civic run 10s.

IMO, yes. Less weight, less bends. Personally Id get a thunderfab downpipe and an apexi gt spec exhaust. Or get a racing beat 3.15in downpipe and get a local shop to make you the rest of the exhaust (using the RB downpipe) from 3.5-4in pipe.

i see what u are saying about the n/a turbo question...what i'm asking is should the motor itself be built to run real strong before i even put the turbo inplace. or would it just be easer to do it all at the same time and tune the turbo and fuel as i go along
