Unhappy the unbelievable weight of my car

I was cleaning my car today. accidently, I decided to read the information off the sticker on the driver side door. I was shocked by the weight.

it says: 3695 lbs. the front is about 1700 lb, and rear is about 1900 lb.

that is crazy. I always thought my 91 GXL only weight about 2900 lb. and even icemark's information says 91 n/a should be around 2800 lb, not > 3000 lb.

what the hell? I read it twice, and that is correct: 3695 lbs

yeah that's the max load i assume also.

so if you assume your'e not a huge fatass with a fatass next to you and 2 somewhat semi-medium-fatasses behind you you should be ok :-)

And let's not forget that you aren't hauling a fatass load of hamburgers to make your fatass an even fatter ***.

It's called "curb" weight.
Something like two people, 150 lbs. each?...full tank of gas...and full carrying capacity in hatch (200lbs - 300lbs?).

there should be a weight above that in the door jamb,,,,,,,,around 680 or so,,,,,subtract that from the total(the # u just posted) and you have your cars weight.

The weight you are looking for is curb weight. The sticker does not have that number, only gross vehicle weight (maximum load) numbers.

Published curb weights have a fair margin of error in them, my car weighed 2580 actual with a 2625 published curb weight. The only way to really know is to take your car to a scale. The scale weight - your weight = curb weight.

Mine weighs ~2450lbs now.
