Thumbs down umm ubolted differential....thats bad right?

well the guy that owned the car before me (i do mean ) decided hey the dif mount broke! i know, ill use a ubolt and a 1/4 think piece of metal and bolt it down!!! well that seems kinda hokey to me but i dont quite have 100 bucks right now. so do you think i can get away with driving it like that for a little while. wont be vigorous or anything. kust normal driving condtions.

as long as you're not driving hard then that's ok but fix it asap. don't wanna risk of breaking it. from the way you describe it being bolted, it should do ok. when u change gears, do u hear a clicking noise after you let go of the clutch?

oh...ok then..lemme ask you this; go underneath and push (gentlely then with some force) the differential upwards. does it move? in my case, my mount was bad and the owner before me welded a chain around it to keep it steady (**** poor job too) and everytime i shifted, the force made the diff lift up. drove it like that for 2 yrs and nutin happen but i got annoyed and got me a solid diff mount.
