UIM is off, have a few emissions questions (spider related)

I have my UIM off to get some cleaning and removal done and came across a few questions.

I already have my ACV, EGR, and OMP and oil injectors removed, but still retained the spider.

With all that stuff gone, is there any reason to keep the spider around? The only thing I'd have to do at this point that I know of is to run some fuel line straight through to the rails and then run a vac. line to the FPR on the secondary rail, right?

Actually, looking at the FSM, one of those vac. solinoids controls the FPR and there's also the fuel purge valve and it looks like it's associated solinoid. Looking at that, how would you run the FRP and can you just toss the purge valve?

I did read over Kevin's removal tech page, but it left alot of question unanswered and any feedback I can get would be appreciated. It would be nice to throw that mess of tubing on my growing pile of crap pulled from the FC.

take the rats nest, and hack all the useless pipes off very carefully untill the two fuel pipes are left, then reinstall it.

I'll hit you up on that when I break something (it's only a matter of time ).

I think I'm gonna actually just get some fuel line rather then hack it apart, although that would work in a pinch. I'm removing the PD while I'm in there and putting a banjo in, so if I have more soft line to absorb the pulses all the better (in theory).

if your going to do it that way, there is a diagram which tells you exactly what fittings and how much hose you need and also how to hook it up to the FPR, I looked but I couldent find it for you.. if anyone elce can, please post it up!

Nah, I shouldn't need to do that. I'm pretty sure I can just run the lines from the fuel pipe that comes up to the spider from the driver's side across the engine and to the rails where it was running through the spider before.

That last diagram is for running a parallel fuel system, which my little GXL doesn't justify.

yep, running it like stock is the best way for your setup. thought you could use the stock setup diagram though.

Cool, thanks then. I have thought of going the parallel way just to do it, but then I added up the costs of all the fittings and it wasn't worth it to me. I think you need to get a 3rd gen or equivilent fuel pump to make the setup work correctly anyways.

I am curently building a large streetported N/A 13b to put in there in the future and I plan on porting out the intake runners, so do you guys think I'll need to increase my fuel capacity at that point?
