Uh Oh... (I think I messed up)

I was working on my car, since I have an idle problem and was trying to find the vacuum leak. I remember that when I rev up a little, i hear a very loud "whoosh" of spewing air from the passenger side of my car, so I check what it is, I see this hose that's connected to nothing on one end and on the other it it's hooked up to some black cylinder thing and I assume that that's not normal, so just for a little test, I clog it up with a napkin I have, start the car up for about 20 seconds, rev it up and I don't hear the whoosh anymore, however my idle is the same. But I do hear a new "whoosh" of air from under the hood, I assume "Alright, I've gotten one vacuum leak down and it lead me to anothing", I look under the hood and I see that there's this very light brown gooey stuff, like car semen, on top of the passenger side of my car, under the hood, it's not that much, just a little, I think what it is and then I remember that I put the napkin in hole. So now, I'm like "Oh ****". Does anyone know what I did wrong? Please tell me I didn't **** anything up, seriously.

Did I cause any serious damage? Did I mess anything up? What can I do to fix it?

Okay, here's what happened. There was small hose sticking out to nowhere, from a black round cylindrical this, I have no idea what it is, the hose was going nowhere and just hanging there. I found this hose on the passenger side of the car, right behind the fender lining material towards the front bumper. I clogged the hole with a napkin, just for a little bit, just to see what would happen and revved it, it was on for about 20-30 seconds and I turned it off, I went back to check the hose, the napkin was gone (I'm assuming it sucked it in). Is this bad? What hose was this? Is the hose supposed to go nowhere?

Oh and I did this because I have an idle problem (vacuum leak) and I thought this was it, so I clogged it to see if my idle would fix, when I turned it on, I must admit, for a second, I felt the car idle right and then just die again.

We're gonna need some pictures, as well as you to tell us if this is a TURBO or a NON TURBO car.

Ooo, I'm sorry, I totally forgot to tell you about the car.

It's a 10AE... I guess the rest just tells itself. Oh and it's a turbo.

As for pictures, I don't have a camera, I'm trying to give the best description I can, Okay, let me try this:

Okay, so circle 1 is where the black cylinderical reservoir (sp?) of something is. I have no idea what's in it, when I say black, I don't mean the the liquid is black, I mean that the reservoir is black plastic and not the see-thru type.

And circle 2 is where the hose coming from that thing is just sticking out, behing the fender lining, ofcourse.

Pic doesnt work.

Sounds like you are talking about the exhaust tube from the ACV to the front of the car. The acv exhausts unused airpump air through the pipe to a silencer muffler under the passenger headlight. This has nothing to do with idle or running of the car, or vacuum. With a functional ACV and airpump, but without the silencer hooked up, you will have a MOOO sound on deceleration.

Yes! I think that's what we're talking about, but here's the thing, I hear air spewwing out of there like crazy when I rev the car up a little hard.

The napkin probably got pushed into the air muffler...don't worry about it, it doesnt really matter.

Of course there is air coming out of the hose when you rev the car up. The smog pump spins faster and generates more air as you rev it up, and not all of that air is used by the catalytic convertor, so the excess gets exhausted.
