uh oh...engine fire
well i went out for a little cruise today. i stopped to fill up and also get some gas for my lawn mower. i made a quick pit stop at my house to drop off the gas for the mower. after a minute or so of idleing, the idle started to fluctuate up and down, so i popped the hood to see if anything noticeable was goin on. no sooner than when i popped my hood, i started to see smoke by the intake, 10 seconds later the smoke became a small fire. i killed the car imediately and put out the fire and this is what i found (thank god it wasn't the pulsation dampner)
i dont exactly know what these wires do for the ACV and i don't know why they obviously shorted out, but ASAP im buying a block off plate to do away w/ the whole thing. my question is, can I unplug all the wires goin to the ACV for now and still drive the car or should i just wait for the blockoff? its little situtions like this make me want to speed up on the whole T2 swap (its the only reason i bought the car in the first place) tell me what you guys think.

Clip & insulate that hot wire.
Check the other wires in that area for bad insulation.
If you're running a cat, it may start to clog up.
Hopefully your ECU is still OK.
Drive on - no worries.
