uh is this bad?...

ok so i don't have a picture right now but i'll try to get one later today. i've been hearing this rattle in my engine bay for sometime now and i figured whatever it still runs good. anyways yesterday i was changing my oil and after i let the engine run and the rattle really got to me so i decided to investigate. i then realized that the plate that holds the air pump to the engine ( the metal with the 3 bolts ) has been cracked right down the middle but everything works fine and i've been driving like this for at least 6 months now. i guess it was stressed related. i should probably replace it asap. so any comments??/

Yeah just do a WTB for it and post a picture so they know exactly what you need. i'm sure some forum member will only charge you 10 bucks for a decent one. easy fix and if you delay you never know when it could break and that could cause some issues, don't wait till it breaks because when it does you never know what could happen.

well, if you werent from cali id say remove it...but i hear emissions sucks there. Im sure you can find someone that would give you the piece if you paid shipping. I know plenty of poeple have this sitting in their room. oh and BTW Do you mean air pump.....or air control valve....? post a pic of it because there isnt a "plate" that holds the air pump on. Its more of an arm thingy

If you reallly want to fix it, take it to a shop metal shop, they can whip up a replacement plate in a couple seconds. Might cost $5-10 or so. I sold my air pump bracket for $5.00 couple years ago, so its not like they're expensive at all...

ya. probably do that. i just thought it was weird that you can barely see it split cause it was so fine yet its straight through and i've been driving like this for 6 months and nothing bad as happened, thankfully
