For some reason I thought that the S4s were attached differently. Like the S4s were bolted or something similar and the S5s were not. Just a faint memory so I'm not too sure. Hopefully someone else knows.

But about filling it, there have been some threads and some people have it done to their cars. Other people said to expect the fill to crack fairly quickly, and some people thought of putting metal on top of filler and sanding it down.

they have clips on them, you'll have to get behind the fender to pop them out.

If your getting rid of them anyways, just pull till it breaks off, or messes up to the point where you can see whats holding it down, lol

It's not a little body filling. It's a lot! Unless it's done by someone with a lot of experience making bog look good, your whole car will end up looking terrible.

Take them off and paint them to match the rest of the car, like the S5.

Definitely agree with this. Or put some S5s on there and paint them to match as well.

Clips??

I have a 1986 (thus an S4) and mine was all held on by double sided tape. Well, "held on" is a relative term... it was peeling off. I pulled it off, and primed/painted under it when I resprayed my car, and painted the trim to match as well, I like it that way myself.. S5 style-

I pulled them offf a 82 to have it painted. I cleaned both surfaces, heated it with a hair drier to get any curl out of it, and attached it/them with plain ole Black RTV. Lasted and looked good. Use pressure to hold them down with the RTV. As in boards propped against them with pressure applied.

mine was starting to peel off so I just cut off the part that was curling. maybe when I have time I'll cut the other side to match... just gonna leave it like that. Mine are just glued on... I think.
