fc3s.org oil pedestal

I just got it in and went to take it out however I'm woundering how I'm going to get the bolts off the bottom of that thing? I can't stick a small ratchet in there? I tried a small open end wrench but that barrly fits? Any suggestions? Thanks.

you'll need a mini-ratchet/wrench or cut off a cheap wrench to size, plus lots of patience.

I got at mine with a standard 10mm wrench and a WHOLE lot of patience. If you insist on not being able to reach it, you could always unbolt the engine mounts (and a couple other things) and lift it up a few inches, but I wouldn't recommend it. It can be done, it's just a bitch. Good luck.

Mmm... unbolt the tranny, the engine will drop backwards a few inches making about .5 inch more leverage room

I took off the IC, The UIM, and Tbody. Made for easier reaching. Small box wrench worked for me, along with a LOT of patience. Make sure you tighten those damn bolts as much as you can or it WILL leak out of the bottom. I had mine tight (at least I thought) and it leaked. I tightened it as much as I physically could after that and now its all good.

Thumbs up

I got my Oil Filter Pedestial off and on (3times) w/ a std ratchet and 10 mm deep socket, just remove the IC-TB Elbow, and the engine end of the 3 fuel lines that are in the way.

see my photos in the gallery:

also my car has cruise control so the cc -tb cable gets in the way a little but I did not remove it

I installed the RB version on a friends car with just a small 10mm wrench. I did not have to remove the UIM/TB, etc. I just had to push a few wires out of the way and was able to get at it that way.

No I didn't have a bad oil leak just wanted the holes for the oil temp and oil pressure guage. I tried taking it off today but it kicked my *** so I took my bumper off instead (not much easier) . Anyways sunday I'm going to conquer this damn pedestal!

Try to email them directly. That is what I do. They have been busy with the fires in San Diego recently though. http://clubfc3s.com/iboard/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=697&

Oh very true, I forgot about the fires. That had never occurred to me.

I had tried directly e-mailing, to no avail.

Best of luck to them with their dilemma. I will wait for my pedastal order then, consider I'm not even driving the car until spring '04.

Sometimes I forget about how many people I know and deal with it's affecting.

FCStore, Icemark lost one of his immaculate FCs, it's horrible.

I'm sure there are tons more I could list.

Best wishes to all of those involved.
