tying ports open

ok i put the exhaust on today and now have to face the prob with the auxillary ports.

will prob go the route of donig the air pump mothed but not sure yet.

the hose that goes to the back cat i can completel y reomove right? well just hook up a other hose and tap into the air pump one right?

secone if i zip tie the ports open, can i do this by simply pressin in the rods on the ports and tying them in place?

The best write-up I've seen for an inexpensive way to work S4 open exhaust aux ports:

http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/

click on "tech" then "airpump 6 PI"

You really do want them to work or you will loose the bottom half of your power band.

S5 aux ports are opened by the air pump so there is no need to do it

so an s5 you can free up the exhaust all you want and not have to worry about the ports not working ever because the air pump does all the work

I pulled the air pump on my former S5 NA & used an electric pump.
Here's how it looked:

On an s4 it will open in neutral, s5 needs to have a load(driven) so they can open. The hose that you tap in to (s4) is the acv to acv muffler hose. Its right under the afm.
