twin scroll quriy? 1987 turbo 2

i have a 1987 turbo 2 and i was wondering what would happen if i lock the flaper valve in the exhaust manifold open and leav the s4 turbo on. Because i am going to put a mega squirt control unit on my rx7 and it is not going to have the option of operating the TS acuator. if any one knows help me out please.

Just pull the flapper door out, weld the manifold where the bolt goes, and port the turbo runners...

That's what I did....

You can control the flapper with the 'Squirt if you want.

The twin scroll actuator is failed to the full OPEN position. Just disconnect the vacuum line to it.

You could also just use an s5 turbo hotside and manifold and get rid of the twinscroll and have a more efficent manifold!

There will be an effect; low-rpm lag will be greater. Use the the MS to operate it, it's very easy.

I've found a solid reason to disable it......some humor involved in the reason.

I knew you'd bite on that one. Well, while getting ready for the annual emissions check, I heard a pffftttt, pffftttt, pfffftttt coming from the exhaust. It was the bushing for the shaft for the twin scroll flap that was leaking. If I could hear it, They could hear it. No leaks allowed during the emissions/safety inspection.

Removed shaft/flap and welded the hole. I would prefer to have it working, but.....

check out RETeds website. he has a cool writeup that shows how to remove the door/flapper thing, tap and seal it off, and all that good stuff.
only took me like 15 minutes to do.
looks a little better, and if you dont have a welder, its easy to do.
