Twin scroll only works sometimes???
Ok well my twin scroll only seems to come on when it feels like it I guess, I can ride around for an hour and it I can tell its not working then all the sudden i can hear the turbo whistling and ill punch it and the turbo spools up 20 times faster.... Now wat could make this think only work sometimes???? Or are there only certain conditions it comes on? Also i can go for a week sometimes without it coming on then one day it will, and it also seems like my vac guage reads 12 at idle with it on and 10 at idle with it off, and it deffinately idles smoother when the thing works...WTf??

I'll put it this way: You can start the engine and look at the twin scroll actuator in your driveway. Rev the enigine over 2800 rpm and the actuators rod will move........or NOT move.
If it moves each and every time, all's well.
IF it never moves, find out why. See if the vacuum line to it has vacuum at idle or not. No vacuum? See if the twin scroll solenoid is good/bad and if there is vacuum going to and from it';
And you already KNOW that if vacuum is lost to the actuator, the actuator is spring loaded to the full open position to allow full spool up. Sort of a Fail Safe item.
Also make sure the check valve is installed in the hose going to the twin scroll actuator.

why don't you just test it and find out for yourself
it is a very simple control system, if it's only working some of the time then either there is a small tear in the actuator diaphragm, a leaky vacuum line or a faulty solenoid/wiring - that or someone hooked up the vacuum lines incorrect.

Boost pressure should have no effect on whether the twin scroll actuator works or does not work, imho.
The actuator is really pretty simple. No vacuum to it and it stays wide open allowing full boost at all times.
There's a spring in that canister that holds the actuator rod in the full open position when no vacuum is applied to the actuator.
Apply vacuum to the actuator, and the actuator pulls the Flap in the twin scroll area to the close position.
You might check and see if it moves when your in the driveway reving the engine over 2800 rpm. It should move each and every time it reaches 2800 and above.
Not much more to say about it. Maybe see if the linkage is about to fall off and or if the green/white twin scroll checkvalve is installed.

It clearly shows how the twin scroll works And the part the checkvalve plays in the working of the thing and why the checkvalve exixts. Picture shows the engine running with vacuum applied to the actuator. Remove the vacuum and the *Flap* moves to full open by the spring that is shown in the actuator.
The actual location of the green/white check valve is shown in, the free, online FSM. It's located about four inches from the twin scroll solenoid and just inboard of the solenoid.

ok i figured out where everything is i think, the check valve is still there, and there arent any vac leaks in the lines, only thing left to do now is rev it above 2800 rpms and see if it moves, but i dont think it does cause when the think works you can hear the turbo whistle in the exhaust, and when it dosent work you dont hear it, but I Need this this thing to work all the time cause it sure does cut down on spool up time....anything else to check?? wat can fail on the system or wat usually fails??
