A Civic's exhaust sounding amazing, I have never heard one!

On your question I have never seen them on a rotary not to say it has been done.

where would you plan on fitting a loop type of muffler under any RX7?

didn't know these were civics.

they're also restrictive, despite their sound.

The loop goes down underneath the muffler
Flat spot up top with hangers

Despite not being a civic duuuuh smart ***
They are pretty quiet on low rps and come out with an aggressive deep tone at higher rpms

WTF is with the "no cops!!!" title of this thread? The only way an aftermarket muffler will get attention from cops is if it is blatantly too loud. There's nothing illegal about a lot of aftermarket mufflers. From the look of that thing you'll have trouble fitting it inside the stock heatshields, but if you want to try it, give it a shot.

I've been on probation for the past 3 years (long story, state cops, shitty lawer...dont ask)..... and have gotten pulled over numerous times without a problem... just dont have drugs, or guns or dead hookers in the car and you're fine.... unless thats an issue... in that case buy a 1988 Oldsmobile Calais and call it a day lol.

but the twin loops are restrictive... the quietest nice looking not-so-restrictive muffler ive heard would probably be In my opinion the Greddy SP2... and put another resonator on the pipe...they are pretty quiet

If you don't want to get pulled over, then take it to a muffler shop and have them put on the cheapest generic non-"performance" muffler they have. It's restrictive, so it'll prevent you from trying to haul ***, and it'll be quiet.

Or just don't be retarded. Seriously, I've never been profiled for driving the cars that I do. Even the customers' cars that were 10x as badass as mine that I drove around, I STILL never got pulled over. It's all in how responsible you are. But you're on probation, and think tennessee cops are ******** so it seems like you've already proven to everyone that your responsibility never quite developed.

what about stock ? I think they're ok, very quiet (for me)

Had RB full race set b4, loud as #$^&, sold it for a good price and got stock stuff used in preetty f-ed up shape for under 100 bux. the muffer might be *bad* so I bought 2 Walker Exhaust for replacement (later, when its warmer)

*Searches those exhausts on civics* Nope, the civics still sound like chewbacca's smaller, more aggressive cousin with a stress disorder....

BTW my exhaust has got no attention from the cops ever.

Man, don't do that.

This is what i got for Christmas...

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-10416/

They are straight through, stainless outer and inner core, with stainless steel packing.

Those are 14in. long, but if you want quieter they make a longer one.

Theres barely enough room with a RB Mufller, let alone, having a pipe turn back around.
I would just get a RB catback and call it a day, its quiet and sounds way better then a canister muffler.

The OBX twin loop muffler sounds nice on the civic, but the best exhaust I have ever heard coming out of a civic is from a Apexi Worldsport exhaust, even the cheap fujitsubo exhaust sounds great. Also, holy hell the price went up on the Fujitsubu...I remember they were like 300-400 new 3-4 years ago for the catback, now they are freaking 700-900....these JDM fanatics are driving the prices up...The company is like the APC of Japan.

Get a quality exhaust like the Apexi or HKS. Use the silencer unless you plan to race the car.

Otherwise put a stock exhaust on it.

The only civics i've ever heard that didn't sound like *** were turbocharged and weren't using that crappy muffler you posted.

like i said, good luck putting a loop muffler under an FC. roll your *** under your car and actually look at it sometime and you'll know what we mean.

as said, these aren't civics..

if you want quiet exhaust, try the stock catback. then if they want to hassle you you can point out that the exhaust is stock.. most of these "performance upgrade" mufflers for civics actually reduce power, especially in rotaries that require excellent airflow for real performance cars. the stock RX7 exhaust is probably the quietest most unrestrictive you will find.

I've got the same mufflers on my T2. I used two resonators as well (dual exhaust). Sounds glorious and controlled. Can't beat it for the price.

BTW... that muffler you posted pics of, looks ridiculous..
