Turning a N/A hood to a TII

Is there a way for this to be done... Like using a universal scoop or something? I'm almost odne with my TII swap now and I wanted to do a FMIC setup but no more cash... So the next best thing I figured was to keept eh TMIC and just do something witht hood.. Any Suggestions? I'm looking for something that will also look nice, not ridiculious.... Thanx

hell you'd be better off just buying a TII hood, perfect fitment with rubber seals around th IC.

i would go and buy a TII hood and save yourself time and agony. trying to line up a hood scoop could be frustrating. and if you messed it up, it would cost you just as much if not more for a new hood and materials.

Just get a TII hood. Unless you have to drive across country, it will be cheaper and easier to get a TII hood no matter how much you have to drive.

i know a guy who did a custom hood scoop on his 240sx, but he works in a body shop so naturally it looked really clean.

Of course there is. Anyone familiar with basic bodywork can find a tasteful aftermarket scoop, cut the hood, rivet it in place and then mold the surrounding area with fiberglass. Of course the hood will then need to be repainted. If you want it done in metal then that's going to cost some money but really neither option is cheap. Figure $500 or so to get a scoop added. Used TII hoods are cheap in comparison.

it really depends on your goals on what you are need or wanting out of this. i have a 86 non turbo converted to a turbo 2 . at first i had a TMIC and need a scoop also for the hood and turbo hoods are hard to come by here . i did the next best thing i could think of. was just go on ebay buy a 20 dollar simple hood scoop use my air tools and cut the shape of the scoop on my non turbo hood and used double sided tape to hold her down and it worked fine for what i needed, i dont use the hood anymore but i still have it . i went FMIC now and i also have another non turbo hood cause i dont like the turbo 2 hoods. "each his own taste" to me i just like the non turbos look to me it looks cleaner.

but yeah it all really depends on what your plans are for your car.

I teach paint and body; nights, at al local college and I would rather buy a factory TII hood. Now if one of my students wanted to do this as a project; maybe then, but you’re looking at $100 for paint (cheep paint) and supplies.

Can anyone suggest a decent FMIC from e bay... Some people on this forum told me they use them and said they are decent... I also heard the e bay piping is pretty good..... Any suggestions?
