Lightbulb turn signal won't signal

Two problems the first is that when i turn on the turn signals i hear the clicking sound but its going way to fast and the instument panel arrows don't light up and the blinkers don't work outside the car, the hazards when turned on won't even click. so i checked if the bulbs were blown by turning on the running lights and all the lights work except for the binkers in the rear which don't light up at all. Also when slowing down there is a load knocking sound coming from the right rear wheel, what could that be?

Thanks

If the signal is flashing fast, that is the CPU indicating that the turn signal bulb(s) are burnt out. Either the bulb(s) are burnt out or the CPU is acting up, and may need re-soldering/rebuilding (the hazards not working are a good indication of that- but in your case it sounds more like the bulbs should be replaced first).

The turn signals and running lights use different filiments in the bulbs. You can't check them by just turning on the parking lights.

The load knocking sound (unrelated) is probably your spare tire loose, or a broken/damaged suspension part.

My right turn signal has that problem. It clicks fast if I try to signal right, but left is fine. I replaced the bulb and same thing, so I guess it's the flasher cpu? I looked on Mazdatrix's site and they list a flasher cpu for $64.83. Does anyone know where it is in the car?

I had that same problem, my left signal was flashing way too fast but the right was fine. I found the problem in the grounding to the left front signal light was bad. I re-grounded it and it fixed the problem slick as butter.

My front left blinker bulb would light up with the parking lights but would not flash. The rear left one would flash in rapid mode. I just changed the front bulb and it worked. It's probably because one of the filaments on the bulb is getting burned out. If you know one of your bulbs works swap them to a bulb that doesnt and see if it fixes it before you go and spend some money on new bulbs even though they are cheap.
