Question Turn Signal Problems

I just bought a 1988 Turbo II with a Mazda reman. motor. Everything works great except the turn signals/ hazards. Turn on either switch, and the box under the dash clicks, but no turn signal lights on the exterior, or in the dash. The fuse is good.

you may need a new turn signal control box thingy lol, its behind the kick panel on the drivers side right to the left of the clutch pedal, Its a black plastic box that says flasher control module or something along those lines, its held in by 1 12mm nut found on the top of the box If I remember correctly, If this turns out to be the problem I can sell you one cheap if you can't source one yourself.

I just sent mine to Icemark (he is on the forums) for a rebuild. He is very reasonable and a great guy. Mazda electronics are notorious for these "cold solder" problems.

It is an easy process to pull your old one and put a good one in though. Now the AC control logicon is a different story!!

Does anyone have one of these control boxes I can buy? I called the dealership and they want 80 bucks for it. Forget that. I'll use my arms. OR does anyone know where I can find it for cheaper? THanks

I'm going to check out the junkyards around here if noone here has one. Does anyone know if the s4 and s5 ones are the same. I know the junkyard around here has a few FC's and they are all s4's. I've got a s5 so that could be a problem.

You can get the Turn signal board in the CPU pretty cheap without having to replace the whole CPU.

I have rebuilt versions of both available on my website

Fixed. Found one out at the junkyard. Thanks for your help. Now I've got a question. I got the controller out of an s4 and I had to take the circut board out of it because the top plug wouldn't fit. The bottom on that controls the turn signals fit. And it worked but the top plug of wires is differant in an s4 and s5. The questiong is, what does that top plug control? I ran the thing home from the junkyard with just the bottom plugged in and all the signals and stuff worked. So did the emergency flashers. I'm confused.

The S4 and S5 middle plugs are radically different and include alarm functions on the S5.

But the Turn signal boards are interchagable, so just unscrew the small screw on the bottom of each CPU, pop off the bottom cover and slide out the circuit board and swap in the working circuit board.
