Turn signal problem

Recently my '89s rignt turn singal stopped working. It clicks really fast when the right turn signal is on. I swapped bulbs from left to right, and pulled the sub-harnesses from the main wiring harness. Both of the sub-harnesses have continuity. The connection to the bulb shows no voltage, while the functioning side does. any ideas?

Might be a bad Flasher Unit, pull out your flasher unit from cpu housing, and hold the relay down to close the conection, If the right side lights up, could be a bad flasher unit,(note ignitions needs to be in "on" position).

If it thats the case I have one on Ebay for S5 model FC01. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ESSE%3AIT&rd=1

If the right side still doesn't light up, could be a short some where or cut wire.

Yeah, sounds like a bad CPU flasher board.

I have rebuilt flasher boards and rebuilt FC01 CPUs (89-91 coupes) on my website under the products section.

There should be flashing voltage from the CPU flasher board (bottom board) to the turn signal part of the front and rear signals when the hazards or turn signal switch is on

Ya i kinda have that same problem but with my left turn signal. Whenever i tap the switch lightly it tends to fix it. I haven't really had that problem kick up recently though.....

Yeah, and easy check to see if it is the switch, is to see if the problem also happens with the Hazard switch.

If it happens with both the turn switch and hazard switch then it is the CPU or wiring to the bulbs

If it happens only with turn signal switch operation, then it is probably a bad turn signal switch or damaged light harness (at the turn signal switch).

well that cpu sold, I have two others,
http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...sort=3&rows=50
But those are for S4, you can how ever just swap the flasher circuit bord from the S4 to your S5 cpu.

If it's the flasher, why would the left ones work fine? When the hazards are turned on only the left side flashes.

Because there are two relay's one for left one for right, if the right relay died, then only the left will be operating.
