That's a image of the sixport metal gasket. The bridge I mentioned in the above post is .....just what you see in the jpg above. The housing is a mirror image of what that gasket looks like. Therefore my gut/hack job is not as bad as you might imagine. It's a work in progress (covering my ***).

I was not going to fill that cavity but then got off my lazy *** and filled it in. I had to do it twice. The solder needs to be kept fully melted when filling the cavity. I did not keep it fully molten on the first try and had a layering efffect which caused a *flaking* problem. Just reflowed it again from start to finish and that flaking ain't thar no mo. NO. The solder will not attach itself to the aluminium. The idea is to fill the cavity. The plug CANNOT, WILL NOT fall out into the engine. It's physically impossible due to the shape.

just wondering because I will be pickin up an 87 NA and I want to turbo when the motor goes down... so the question is should I just do a full NA rebuild or is there a way to swap in the turbo rotors to lower the compression(or do I need too)

Keep the na rotors if you put a turbo on it. Then again, your talking to someone who is doing his first turbo on a non turbo engine. I own two tubo cars that I've rebuilt but never a turbo on a non turbo. Get my drift? I doubt there will be a problem. My biggest problem will be the intercooler since I don't wanna buy another hood for the car. It's gonna have to get a fmic.

cool deal just wanted to know where to start heading... also are you using the regular turbo from a turbo II or are you going to go bigger?

and what are you doin as far as the tranny goes?

I really like the hood from the turbo II, think it looks much cleaner... but I also tend to pull more for front mounts then top mounts too...
