turboing n/a

i am in the planning process of turboing my 87 gxl, and i was hoping to get some feedback on some things.

1. i was planning on using an s4 turbo upper intake mounted on a 6 port lower intake, so that i can use a greddy fmic. is this feasable?

2. i already have a down pipe for a turbo can i use it?

3. can i use a turbo front cover instead of tapping the na one for the oil return? and also, how would i go about running the feed line? anything swappable from a turbo to make it easier? how does the turbo get it's supply on a tII?

4.i will be going w/ a microtech from day 1, with a walbro 255, and probably two 550's in the primaries, 680's in the secondaries. is that enough fuel for 10psi?

5. fuel cut defenser. will i still need this with a microtech?

that's all i can think of for now. sorry for the length.

thanks in advance

lamar

You wont need a FCD with a stand alone comuter.

The S4 Turbo UIM will not come close to matching a non-turbo LIM.

Just compare gaskets:
Turbo:

non Turbo:

Notice anything about the closeness of the runners???

Mazda comp sells an adapter plate to mount a 4 port intake to a 6-port engine, then you could use a complete s4 intake setup. http://www.mazdacomp.com/intakesystems.htm.

If you use a stock turbo and manifold, then yes you can use the downpipe

You injectors will give enought fuel for 10 PSI, s4 TII's run 4X 550 injectors.

But, sine you're going with a microtec.. why not pull your motor and switch to a TII motor, you're going to have to tear the whole thing apart to get the wiring harness and vaccume crap out anyway.

I'm planning to do the same thing, and evidently with some porting the whole s4 turbo manifold will fit.

Here's a link to some pictures of this. http://www.winisp.net/gsl%2Dse/intake_manifolds.htm

the site says 13b 4 port to 13b 6 port, will that adapter still work on a turbo lower manifold

i thought long and hard about doing a full turbo II conversion but i decided i rather be a little different, plus i am seeking out a 3rd gen for my all out supercar.
