Turboing a 88 n/a vert good idea or bad

So I have a 88 N/A vert. but want to know should I just go straight for a TII swap or just turbo the n/a?

In all honesty though I'm not trying to go for some insane amount of power but make my car quicker I mean if i could put a number 200-230hp, but I think read in a post sometime in the past ( couldn't find it now) that it wasn't really a good idea. Sooo opinions Is it okay to Turbo the N/A or no

Read the FAQ section. This has been beaten to death over and over again. Not worth the money or hassle, just do a turbo swap.

How could a turbo swap ever be cheaper???? Seeing as I did one.... My buddy Bob is doing a turbo n/a right now and seems to be going just fine for a hell of a lot less.

It's going to be cheaper in the long run, if the 6-port turbo is done with as little cash as possible. Trying to go that route on a tight budget is just asking for a blown engine. 90% of the people just slap on a turbo, an intercooler and wire an SAFC in the car, then call it a day. That won't work for long. Unless the plan is to run 5psi all day long, you NEED timing control with high CR rotors.

Well I guess that's where I wouldn't even use a stock ECU period. My friend is running a Megasquirt and being the kit is only 253 bux.... But it does depend on being tuned at that point which if you are clueless you better pay to have that done. But I would like to see a person do a full swap cheaper... Cost me about $3400 to do it but I got my money's worth with the parts in it. Top notch stuff and it was the best running 7 I've seen to date.

Okay, to end this debate on a good note, please look up Aaron Cake's build, either on here or his site http://www.aaroncake.net

90% of your questions will be answered by reading up. The other 10% will be preference-related, such as keeping A/C, what EMS to use and so on.
