TurboII swapover Q's (yes I searched)

So I've got an '87 TurboII that blew b/c the idiot before me didn't tell me about any of the obvious problems with it when I asked him about it. My fault for actually trusting the guy...

ANYHOW... I just picked up an '87 N/A, not even sure what model it is, I have to check I guess... it's got 4 lug wheels, steel hood, manual windows, manual mirrors, no sunroof... (you getting the point here, it's light, cept for that stupid hood).

So I'm going to be swapping over the turbo parts little by little, eventually just dropping a new (turbo) motor into it with a Microtech LT-12 to control it, yadda... yadda...

So, my question is this... I've got the brakes & hubs and such off of the TurboII already, is that all I need to swap over the suspension and brakes? Or do I have to take the whole control arms, or what?

Basically all I'm waiting on now is to get new wheel bearings & install the rear-steer bushings, and the rear hubs are ready to go, and the fronts are already in fine shape.

Is there going to be any compatability issues because I'm not swapping the axles over yet? Or anything else like that?

Basically I'm putting the TurboII hubs, brakes, suspension, & wheels on the car.

i would just rebuild the T2... and do weight reduction if you want to. the power windows arent heavy at all..
if you have a t2 alredy, why waste time swapping it into an Na

Because the body in the TurboII is:
1) eh... not too bad, but not excellent either
2) RED. Arrest me red. I've NEVER been pulled over in my life for speeding until I was driving that piece and doing friggin' 70 (or what I thought was 70, was actually 75) in a 65 zone. The cop pulled the both of us over (I was following a C4 corvette at cruising speed for about 20 minutes).

Not seeing any issues here. So from what I understand your just going to do the 5-Lug swap for now then the engine and drivetran later? Sounds like a solid plan to me. The splines on the rear hubs are the same for both TII and N/A so you can use the TII 5-Lug hubs with the N/A 1/2 shafts. You will not need to swap over any other suspension parts (well unless you want to run the TII struts/springs and sway bars). The beauty of bolt up items.

Edit: OOps forgot to mention you will need to change out the front brake calipers, pads, and lines. The rear brakes are the same.

If your NA is a 5 lugs one, then you don't need to swap out the hubs. Turbo brake calipers, and half shafts will bolt in fine.

mine's a 4-bolt.

So you say I need to change other parts over to put the TurboII suspension on it? Why in the heck is the suspension mounting points different?

No, they're not different as far as I've ever seen, the shocks & springs should swap right over.
