What is the best turbo up grade ? I have the stock turbo on it now ,and the car is not running I just got the car with a dead eng it is a 87 tII I am putting a mild street port on the new eng so I want to get a new turbo that has the ability to go to 300 hp, some thing that has a fast spool thanks chris

 

That's kind of a subjective question. It depends on what your goals are. 300hp no problem. You can do a turbo upgrade on the compressor side. Any big turbo place can do it. Check out turbonetics. You can put up to a 60-1 compressor on a stock turbo cartridge. The compressor housing does change but you can still use a stock manifold. The stock T-II turbos have interchangable parts with the t-04 family of turbos. 300 hp will be easy to hit. I'd just make a phone call to Turbonetics and ask for recommendations. It would still spool plenty fast with the stock exhaust side.
