Turbo troubles

AHHHH
I couldn't get the turbo in the car yesterday without removing the precat, so I did (I wanted to gut the precat anyways, it was melted and ****), and I made the mistake of looking at the blades on the turbo. Oops. One's got a BIG chunk missing, like 1x1cm. Another has just a bit missing. The rest look ok.

How long do you think this will last? Is it fucked allready? I DO NOT have the money to replace this turbo right now, what are my options? I only plan on boosting 5-6 psi right now, will it hold together under such low boost?

It's highly recommended to replace it as soon as possible.&nbsp With those pieces missing, the "rotating assembly" is out of balance, and this will eventually wobble itself to death (i.e. kill the bearings).&nbsp used turbos are practically a "dime a dozen".&nbsp If you own a Kouki turbo, you don't need a Kouki turbo to replace the rotating assembly - you can use the RA from a Zenki, no problem.

Cool.

Yeah, I think I can afford to replace it in a month or two, but I've got to get this car on the road NOW so for now it stays.

Thanks!

Ted, wouldn't it be a good idea for him to take the actuator arm off the waste gate so it can open freely and keep his boost way down?

It should be replaced like ted said. However, IMO you could drive it for a while. Just stay off boost and you probably wont cause too much damage.

Edit: wiring the wastegate open probably wouldnt hurt.

This really doesn't do anything except maybe give you "lazy boost".
