turbo tranny reverse lights wiring

Alright, I have an s4 n/a body harness. I've put in the turbo tranny and have the reverse lights switch screwed in the hole underneath the shifter. The switch has 4 wires, 2 male banana plugs and 2 spade connections 1 male, 1 female. The two banana plugs fit into the body harness. The problem is with the spade connections. Both the spade connections on the body harness are male. The spade connections on the switch are male and female. I can cut and splice the wiring in np. My question is, will it matter if I swap the connection for the spade plugs, or the banana plug connections for that matter. Or will it not matter?

I hope that makes some sense.....
