Exhaust pipes are burning up
If this is a repeat i apologize in advance. I have a 86 GXL and for some reason the pipes are crystalizing and turning purple then breaking is this because I do not have the right pipes in the car? Or is it some other problem I have no idea about? Any input would be most welcomed.

if they are stock pipes its because your car is hitting its 20th birthday really soon, and probably the nasty humidity, snow, or rain if any of those are factors in your state, how would you not expect this

well when I bought mine a couple years back, the exhaust system was a complete rusted deteriated piece of crap, so I bought a hks hi power cat back, if your in a state with a constant battle with the elements just buy what ever exhaust suits you and buy some thermal paint to lightly paint the whole thing except the outlet so it wont rust

Racingbeat makes some of the most high quality aftermarket parts for the RX-7. In my opinion, anyway...others will probably agree. But if you want really high quality, expect to pay for it. I think the full exhaust system from them is something near $1000. I have it on my car, sounds beautiful, not ricey loud, and looks great. I expect to hold up for a VERY long time.
Corksport also sells good aftermarket parts. I've never dealt with any of their parts myself, but I've heard good things.
If you're going to be replacing your exhaust system, I'd look into an aftermarket performance system. They say that full exhaust on a rotary is one of the best things for it, in terms of performance.
