turbo timer install???? keep blowing engine fuse!!!

turbo timer install???? keep blowing engine fuse!!!

ok..... i have an hks turbo timer, and all the instructions are in japanese. i have a few friends that have turbo timers, and they installed the harness to the starter relay! i also purchased the harness that plugs directly into my car...(instructions also in japanese)... anyways, the harness does fit in the starter relay perfectly, but everytime i go to start the car, i blow the engine fuse under the dash! whats wrong??? what am i doing wrong??

Then you've got a wiring problem, lol...

And..........It doesn't blow with the turbo timer plug disconnected, right?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I think you've found your problem. Not the specific wire, maybe, but the problem

it doesnt blow w/ the timer disconnected..... and i know what the problem is........ i just need to know what i should do??? am i correct w/ installing the timer to the starter relay??? i was just trying to see if i installed it wrong...... does anyone have a turbo timer installed on their car??? how did you do it....

btw....thanx wayne for trying to help.... i know its hard to answer questions if you dont know all the syptoms and exactly what the person is trying to ask! but im tryingto explain the best i can

Dude, if you can post the wiring schematic for the timer connections, I may be able to help you, but without it, I'm shooting in the dark...

OK, look at it this way- you have a power wire that's shooting straight to ground, all you have to do is figure out which one. Process of elimination- take all of the wires out of the connector, and plug them in one by one with a new fuse & a start attempt. At least that'll zero in on the culprit, and you can figure out WHY it's doing it from there...

ok...thanx...ill give it a try....... (im horrible w/ wiring!!).... i can rebuild a rotary motor, but wont go near a wiring harness..lol.... since your the "god of wiring" , ill use your advice!! but one question that still isnt answered....... i am right in plugging the timer into the starter relay.. right???

yes, its okay.

if you didn't buy the harness, you would have to splice wires into the starter relay.
