I think I'd put it in my glovebox anyway. its not like I'd need to see it while I'm driving. plus, you can get a metric one in black
I never got the speed functions to work properly because it wouldn't ever get the RPM's right, at low RPM it was accurate, but anything above say 5k was way off.

I didn't bother to try to fix it, could have been a simple mistake.

I've got the old school greddy. It was free. It does its job. And like Zub said, the voltage feature is a nice thing to have since Mazda decided we didnt need one. Only problem is(and this is how I got it) its supposed to be clear red plastic. Instead however it looks hot pink. Damn. Oh well.

If I were to order a new one, I'd get the gReddy also. It'll go nicely with the Profec B Spec II...

It's not the hot oil that's the problem, it's the hot turbo core that bakes the oil (creating hard particles) when it stops flowing. But that's a much bigger problem with air-cooled turbos, not water-cooled ones like we have.

Water-cooled turbos don't need turbo timers because the coolant removes the heat from the core much quicker than in air-cooled turbos. It only takes a short time driving without boost to bring core temps down to where the oil in the core is safe.

All you need to do is drive the last mile or two mildly. This does a better job of cooling the turbo than sitting stationary anyway. This is the same advice given in the handbook of every turbo car out there. Manufacturers don't fit turbo timers because if you follow their instructions you don't need one.

It's a turbo timer. Buy the cheapest one you can, install it, and forget about it.
