Talking Turbo swap w/ CorkSport- advice needed.

Hello- First off, I have a '86 sport, thats in great shape other than the motor.

I'm determined to get this car setup with a Tii motor. As I have no time for such projects, its gonna be done for me. I have a budget in mind, but wont skimp on reliability. My main goal will be for reliability, with secondary goals of 200 to 230ish HP and minimizing turbo lag.

My car has the following done to it: (that concerns the convertion)

-Borla Catback
-Bonez hi-flow cat
-RB header (for sale after this swap)
-Tii tranny, axle, subframe, brakes etc...
-Tii clutch

Hopefully the engine can be rebuilt without any issues (ie: good rotor housings).
I'm considering a mild portjob on the rebuild as well.

*To keep this reliable, should I stick with the stock Tii ecu?
*Should I get a HKS turbo manifold from the get go?
*Since I dont want a Tii hood, what intercooler should I look into?
*Wastegate porting? (or external wastegate with the HKS unit?)
*Stock downpipe, or alternatives?
*aftermarket injectors, or alternatives?

Basicaly I want to have a reliable fun car that I dont have to worry about or tinker with all the time to make it work, and of course have a decent amount of powah under the go pedal. Keep in mind this car will be my daily driver for the time being, so I'd like to keep some sort of fuel efficieny (17+ is good).

Ok- that definatly helps out.

Driving for a few hours with the topmount intercooler with no vent shouldnt hurt the engine~ will it?

As far as the intercooler placement: I'd like to keep the aluminum N/A hood and am willing to custom make a vent- any advice for intercooler placement? I'd like to avoid a FMIC. Any thoughts of a vented sidemount intercooler?

Any advice?

Don't boost, and good luck with that. If you've never driven a TII, boost comes on easy+quick

If I get the engine ported, should I look into a fuel cut defencer and a boost controller? (considering I have aftermarket exhaust that flows better) Also, as far as turbo timers go, should I look for any specific features, or just the very basic?

First of all, did you get a quote for this job?
This is not something that's is anywhere near cheap.
I would expect a rebuild to cost $2000 - $3000.
The swap should add another $1000 - $2000.
You have this kinda money laying around?

Second, you are not going to get anywhere over 17mpg unless 1) you never boost the turbo, and 2) only drive on the freeway.
