Exclamation Turbo Red Hot!?!?!?!?

Just got my new engine running and when I got out to check for leaks and such, the trubo was already glowing pumkin oarnge. Then I went back and checked oil pressure, 50psi at about 2k. And then I noticed the temp was rising so I shut her down. Is this an oil problem, or a coolant problem. I am not leaking coolant, so could there be air in the system causing poor coolant flow to the turbo???? If this is the case, will the turbo still be ok???

Jason

I heard it's normal. But you could check your timing see if it needs advancing, or it's not likelly but your cats (if you have them) could be clogged

you HAVEN''T SET THE TIMING! Yes. That's your first goal. You need to borrow/rent an inductive timing light, or bring the car to a mechanic. It shouldn't cost more than $10-20 to get a mechanic to set your timing, and then you know it's done right.

I have seen my turbo/downpipe glow a bright orange after spirted driving. Not at idle. Timing needs to be set. My guess would be a lot of fuel is not being burned completly and is finishing up in the exhaust.
