Turbo rebuild Q's -- The saga continues
Incase you dont know, I bought a n/a rx7 for $250, and am converting it to a turbo, so far I have spent $700 including the car, engine, tranny, turbo, and wiring/computer stuff. Well I got the engine, turbo and computer stuff. The turbo I bought needs to be rebuilt, as well as the engine. Majestic Turbo is local to me, should I just take it there and say fix it? I want to put out more boost then stock ( who doesnt!
) and I am doing a front mounted intercooler setup instead of buying the t2 hood, so air intake temps should be better. What should I expect to pay for the turbo to be rebuilt and to put out more boost? Goals are mid to low 13's with 2.0+ 60ft's.

the rebuild is fairly easy to do if you have freinds in a machining shop and someone who can do ballancing for you and you have access to all the parts... if that is the case then you should own a turbo shop! Turbo rebuilds are easily done! it is simply the pieces and the tools that are difficult to get done for cheap! get a quote from "mejestic Turbo" and then get a second quote on the parts alone. that is the best way. I have rebuilt a turbo but it was in Spin City Turbo and the owner was helping me and he has all the equipment there ready for use!
