Thumbs up Turbo questions

Should be able to do it cheap, maybe $1,000 tops. Is their something I am over looking here? Computer, fuel, engine build? '86 n/a rx7 is the car.

Fill in the blanks here otherwise I might get started.

J/Y Turbo = $50
J/Y Intercooler = $50
Rebuild Turbo = $100
Custom Tubing = $300
Bigger injectors = $$$
Bigger pump = $$$
Gauges = $150
Misc. = $100
---------------------------

~$1,000

Thanks for any insight.

Bigger pump will cost you about 125
larger injectors... maybe 150-300 depending on what and how many i guess.
then you need some way to control them, Arron Cake is doin alright so far with his SAFC - thats 300-350
Hope you know hot to weld.

I think you need the entire tII intake man as well.

Hey did I mention theres an 87 tII in the bargain news for $1200 bux??? Says fair condition and runs;

Seems like a better idea. Buy it, sell the NA and fix the TII up.

Thumbs up

I bought this n/a for $250. Spending $1000 to me isnt very much and it will put out more power then a stock TII. Thanks for the info so far.

Why will it be putting out more power than a stock TII? What turbo are you putting on it? Only difference will be that you will have higher compression which means it can't handle as much boost. Plus the tranny can't handle as much power either. I'm gunna stick with my "sell the NA and buy a TII" advice but good luck in your project either way.

How much can the tranny handle. I dont plan on doing 6000rpm neutral drops w/ slicks on the back, more the top end racing.

I'll refrain from a smart-*** comment at this point in time.

The piping isnt that big a deal. Bypass valves are like $30.
