Turbo Questions
hi there, i own a 1988 Rx7 Gxl, (13B)
i was looking into putting a turbo on, but i cant afford a new one truthfully so im down to what kind of one can i pull of in a wreaker.... and look at getting rebuilt at a latter point in time.
what specs should i look for in this turbo?
these ones should be easy to find (2.2L turbo's)
which one is the best/ should i look at another one?
i will pull everything needed for this swap out of the car, and just transfer over...
let me know my best choice....:-( sorry for being broke. lol
thx

without a rebuild on your engine ide say go with the stock TII turbo, you dont wanna over boost the old n/a engine anyway, youll probly end up tossing seals. plus like aaron once said, mazda picked a great turbo for the rx7.
jsut if you didnt know, i turboed my n/a. i used the stock tII turbo and mani.

Man... I dunno. I would suggest NOT turbo'ing your N/A if you don't have much of a budget... I suppose you *could* ghetto-rig it, but is it worth it?
You should save up for a good turbo, EMS and all of the associated goodies before going turbo. You won't be disappointed if you go 'this' route, but it's likely, that on a short budget, you could run into some things that you might regret cheaping out on (if you go the "budget-less" route).
Just a thought.

None of those turbos are even close. Just looing, all the A/Rs are WAY too small. Compressors are also kind of pathetic.
