Turbo question
I have a buddy that did put an S4 tii motor in his FB. He now switched to a holley carb set up and still running the stock turbo. the intake manifold that he is using doesnt have a place to hook up the coolant line for the turbo. His motor is stripped down to the bare essentials and is just planning on blocking off the coolant lines for the stock turbo and not using them at all. How safe is this for the turbo?
I have been running no coolant through the stock turbo for about 2 months now. It's working out fine for me - just make sure you are using a turbo timer or let the turbo cool down after driving it hard.
If you switch to an aftermarket turbo, chances are you won't even have an option for water cooling. It is utilized on stock turbos to keep them cool enough when driving hard (in stock form).

this is only going to be a temporary thing while the motor is going through the break in period. After the motor is broken in hes going full aftermarket turbo.
