Turbo problems
On my way home from school I am stopped at a light and all of a sudden my turbo timer and boost controller start flickering on and off then they jest die then I look behind me and I can see smoke coming out of my tail pipe. While trying to get it in the parking lot the power steering die and the throttle does want to reve up. I get in it in the lot, I pop the hood, and I can see smoke coming from around the turbo. Well I let if cool of for about 20 min, I try starting it again, and its jest dead I get lights but the engine won’t turn over at all. So I get it towed home and the next morning I go out and try to start it again and yet again it won’t start so I hook it up to another car and jump the battery. I get it to start but as soon as it starts to get warm, I get the same smoke from the tail pipe and my turbo timer start flickering. So I turn the car off and I look under the hood and there is a smoke coming from around the turbo.
Any ideas as to what might be causing this ?
o also some how when i checked the oil it was jest below the e level on the dipstick.

How many miles on the turbo?...
How many miles on the engine?...
Yes, your gasket in the turbo could have callapsed. Do you see any oil around your turbo. If you do, then if could be good sign that your turbo oil seal has failed cuaseing mass amount of oil to be burned out the tail pipe. Thus why your oil is so low...
If you dont see any oil build up around the turbo, and your using that much oil it could mean that your oil contol rings are shot in the engine causing you to burn oil out the tail pipe. You would then need a engine rebuild..

ok well today i had some time i went out and looked under the hood and it looks like there is oil under the turbo and it seem that there is also oil on the turbo it self cuz when I ran my hand along it I got some oil on my hands. So would it be a safe bet to say that I probably need new seals? And would bad seals effete the turbo’s power?
