turbo? oil control rings? or what?
Well rebuild has about 3k on it. Car has been running fine. The other day started it, ran it for about 5 min, stopped, started it again, and under idle it smokes and smells like oil. Today started it, doesnt smoke under idle when cold. Pull at 2 stop signs and it was smoking alittle. So i decided to hit and do alittle drift, came home and no more smoking. Any ideas? Im guessing turbo since it has well 188k ( picked it up used) I searched and didnt find a decent answer or conclusive one. I wont be pulling off the turbo yet, i leave for iraq friday, so i wont be doing anything till decemeber when i get back

Hard to say. One way to determine if its the engine is to drive along at a decent speed, have the revs very high, then let off and let the engine perform engine braking.
If it's the turbo one possible cause can be that the crankcase is building up a lot of pressure. Try detaching the PCV valve (open venting) and the hose that is on the oil filler neck. If that solves the problem then you need to diagnose what component is faulty. eg. PCV valve.

well it doesnt smoke under decel, cause if it did, then id say oil rings. But ill drive it tomorrow and see the results. I dont have any valve running to my oil filler neck, its just let open
