turbo lock washer?

The fsm states to install lock washers and bend them against the nuts that hold the turbo to the manifold. I can't seem to find my old ones and don't see any new lock washers in the mazdatrix gasket set. Should I buy new ones or is it ok to just install the turbo without them?

Those lock washers should be available separatly from the gasket set from Mazdatrix. You might want to call and talk to Chris about it, he's always very helpful.

humm, I don't use lock washers and I haven't had any problems. no exhaust leaks or loose turbos.

though that does not mean you shouldn't... just go to OSH or Home Depot and get a couple of lock washers.

I will have you know that I know some excellent women mechanics. Plus it wasn't even technical advice, it was locating a part.
Edit: she swapped Miata internals into her tansmission, that means shes got quite a bit of technical knowledge.

I have had great success with the locking bolts (pinch bolts) you should be able to get them at any import car dealership... just ask for the exhaust manifold bolts in the size you need???10mm, 12mm???. for late model cars I.E. late 90's and up

When you look at them the hole looks oval
