Turbo II swap

I have searched and searched and searched some more. Rotary ressurection does not answer the questions I have on this subject.

I have an '87 S4 N/A FC, and am looking at my options on TII swaps. I know that mazdatrix makes drivelines for both S4 and S5 into an S4 swaps. I was just wondering what would be required to fit the S5 TII into my S4 N/A chassis. Wiring required, parts required.

On a budget of $3000 what would be the most efficient way to go with this guys?
Please no flaming, telling me to "search" because I have been. Links are appreciated, and so is constructive advice. Thank you.

you are doing it the hard way. find an s4 swap or use the s5 block with s4 electronics.

oh, and search.

I haven't decided on the S5 was just wondering how hard it would be. This thread is for advice so I can weigh out my options.

Oh and what are good west coast resources for Motorsets. Is J-Spec the only one?

What would be required parts-wise for an S4 TII into an S4 N/A.

Motorset
ECU
Harness
FMIC/V-Mount Kit (or T2 hood w/ tmic)
custom driveshaft
exhaust

Am I forgetting anything? This is for a low boost setup, just to get the car on the road.

Pressure Sensor (Must Match ECU/Series
AFM (Must Match ECU/Series)
Turbo Transmission w/slave cylinder
Possibly a clutch/flywheel (depending upon if your 'jspec' comes with it)
Boost gauge
Whatevers missing from where you source the engine from (this can range from IC, to BOV, to damn near everything!)

Guys shouldn't he swap in a S4 TII long block instead of S5, doesn't S5 require mix matching abunch of crap and rewiriing some of the harness?

Forgot the pressure sensor! Didn't think about the boost gauge, and most likely a boost controller.

Okay besides that the S4 TII just bolts into the N/A chassis and the wiring hooks right up?

And is Jspec the only local resource for motorsets?

For the most part. Jspec just means the engine is from Japan, (likely the easiest way to find the whole engine/tranny combo) But, be careful as their engine harnesses don't fit our cars properly. If you can find a US donor car then its all plug n pray.

I understand being the new guy but you don't start off a topic especially this topic that has been beat and beat again with "I've searched" Because No, you haven't there is so much info on this topic so many write ups and part lists. Any combination of s4 to s5 - s5 to s4 20b, v8 blah blah blah It's like prego man it's all in here. Somewhere... Read read read and read some more when you think you've read enough read some more... NEVER bite off more than you can chew and never take any ONE persons advice as concrete. This forum as well as the other rotary forums are collective databases with a wealth of information facts and well just as much fiction and opinions.

to run S5 TII set up you'll need

S5 TII engine and tranny
S5 TII tranny crossmember if it wanst on the tranny
n370 pressure sensor AFM, N370ecu or N374 with KS chip
S5 chassis harness to ecu plug (92-94 mazda V6 mx3,mx6, probeGT exact same)
Modify S5 TII harness (search my "threads started" for my how to its pretty easyonly a few hours of work... you'll have to run the wires for the alternator)
switch the pressure sensor on the bottom of the P/S pump
Mazdatrix Driveshaft
turbo throttle cable
atleast a oem TII fuel pump
boost gauge

and your good to go, with a newer, better engine, and upgraded engine wiring
if you get the Knightsport chip with the n374 ecu it has the built in FCD and can handle extra boost

If you dont have the s5 engine already and cant find one for 300 dollars or cheaper (factoring in added unnecessary time on a pointless (if you arent forced to swap)), it makes no sense to go with anything other than an s4 swap. It is very easy.

Someone who is blind could find 50 threads on this.

Search next time, hellen keller.

ya and good luck on the 3k budget s4 n/a- s5 turbo that will be REAL hard there is a lot more involved than a s4 n/a- s4 turbo. i just did the s4 turbo swap. and i got my full long block, trans, ecu, bov, harness, AFM, ect. for 500 bux after the rebuild i did on it i was around the 4k mark total..... unless you were planing on just dropping a engine you know nothing about into your car just to find out a few weeks later its junk :-0 but if thats your plan you got this..... i strongly suggets rebuild tho

I never said I was set on the S5. I actually found what I'm going for, it's an S4 setup for right around my price range. Found a driveshaft shop that will make my driveline, and everything else is drop in. Thanks for the advice guys, i appreciate it.
